Dr. Lauren Giugale "Postpartum Urinary Incontinence"

In this Webinar, we will review the prevalence of and factors associated with postpartum urinary leakage. We will also briefly review possible prevention and treatment methods of postpartum urinary leakage.

During this one hour webinar, participants will

1. Define the types of urinary incontinence.

2. Be able to describe the number of women who suffer from urinary incontinence after childbirth.

3. Identify possible treatments in the postpartum period.

Dr. Giugale provides care for all women with pelvic floor disorders. She has a special clinical and research interest in maternal pelvic floor health after pregnancy and childbirth. As such, Dr. Giugale has developed The Magee Postpartum Pelvic Floor Healing Clinic at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC. Her other clinical and research interests include pelvic floor ultrasound and its use in the diagnosis and management of pelvic floor disorders as well as surgical outcomes research for pelvic floor disorders.
